Polywink is an online platform created to automate the most time-consuming and expensive aspects of facial animation. Thanks to our in-house procedural technology and through years of accumulated data powered by machine learning, we are able to complete in mere hours steps that would otherwise take weeks to achieve: from blendshapes generation to automatic facial rigging solutions, we provide everything you need to bring your characters to life.
Thanks to Polywink, forget about long and repetitive tasks like blend shapes creation. Our 24h delivery process allows anyone to receive a FACS facial rig of professional quality in a single day, drastically speeding up any 3D animation pipeline. No manual work and no auto-rigging or 3D modeling tools are needed!
Faceware Studio connects to MotionBuilder through a free plugin called Live Client for MotionBuilder, available for free through your Faceware User Portal. MotionBuilder is a common and ideal choice for traditional motion capture pipelines looking to record facial animation data being streamed from Studio.
In version 4.0, imagination and creativity are no longer limited by an existing character base. Instead, any rigged character can be imported, characterized, and optimized in Character Creator 4. Characters are fully compatible with iClone for lip-sync, facial/body animation tools, and ActorCore mocap animations to save time in production.
Creators can enliven characters with their own unique personalities. Character Creator 4 supports customizing facial expression morphs to create vivid and unique facial expressions. Users can further review talking and body animation, cloth/hair physics, spring dynamics, and preview animations directly in Character Creator 4.
The most popular use cases for shape keys are in character facial animation and in tweaking and refining a skeletal rig. They are particularly useful for modeling organic soft parts and muscles where there is a need for more control over the resulting shape than what can be achieved with combination of rotation and scale.
At the moment ReveRig is specially designed to manage the facial animation of characters with 52 shape keys (blendshape) provided by Apple ARKit. The presence of these shape keys is essential if you want to achieve facial motion capture with iPhone X and other Apple devices.
The first panel allows you to create a fully automatic 2D viewport facial rig containing all the sliders useful to manage the 52 shape keys of ARKit. Always in this first step are provided the tools to join in a semi-automated way, through drivers, the newly created facial rig, and the character to animate.
Reverig works also on characters that do not have all 52 shape keys, but obviously, the achievable result will be partially compromised by the scarcity of facial expressions made. So it is recommended to have a complete 3D model.
Another important advantage introduced with the use of ReveRig is that thanks to the creation of the facial rig it becomes possible to control the shape key related to facial expressions even if the character is inserted in the scene through Append and Link. It is sufficient to use the facial rig as a proxy. Without ReveRig going to animate the shape key of the character would be impossible or otherwise would require hours of work to create the correct controls. The use of Link is very useful in productions where it is required the use of a high average number of assets.
The textures used on the character's skin are all at 4K resolution and were originally produced from facial scans of the actor. The textures were then cleaned up and tweaked by artists at Epic. This skin setup utilizes five total texture maps: diffuse, roughness, specularity, scatter, and normal.
The pipeline for ALPR involves detecting vehicles in the frame using an object detection deep learning model, localizing the license plate using a license plate detection model, and then finally recognizing the characters on the license plate. Optical character recognition (OCR) using deep neural networks is a popular technique to recognize characters in any language.
In this section, we walk you through the steps to deploy the LPD and LPR models in DeepStream. We have provided a sample DeepStream application. The LPD/LPR sample application builds a pipeline for multiple video streams input and infer the batched videos with cascading models to detect cars and their license plates and to recognize characters.
Another important tool is theREPET package, one of the most used tools for large eukaryotic genomes with more than 50 genomes analyzed in the framework of international consortia. The REPET package is a suite of pipelines and tools designed to tackle biological issues at the genomic scale.
This animation software comes from one of the biggest development companies in the world and serves up to the hyped expectations. One of the recent additions to the Adobe family, this simple animation software uses facial recognition, gesture recognition, etc to animate cartoon characters. The Character Animator is a real-time animator that uses your facial expressions, hand movements, full-body motion capture, and various other inputs to animate characters. It is extremely smooth and fast and you can live stream your development process to share work with team members or your audience. Just plug in your microphone, web camera and start animating! You can also create a character from your artworks in a few mouse clicks using the built-in Adobe Sensei.
One-click subject calibration. Calibrate new performers, subjects, patients, athletes and skeletons in an instant, with a single button click. You can even do so with multiple subjects in the volume at once. The character pipelines into Unreal Engine, Unity, MotionBuilder, and several others are polished for production ease and reliability.
Delta Mush smooths unwanted artefacts in character meshesUpdated 24 March 2022: Character Creator 4 also introduces a Delta Mush system, similar to that used in other animation packages, for smoothing character meshes.

Unreal Engine 5 (UE5) offers beginners and seasoned professionals the ability to create detailed movie scenes with realistic human characters using MetaHuman and combine it with custom props and environments. It also comes with built-in industry standard animation tools to develop such scenes in a fraction of the time compared to old methods. This book takes you through the entire 3D movie production pipeline using free (open - source) software.
With this character rigging course we will take on the challenge to visualize and build realistic production ready character rig and a robust facial rig using digital muscle and simulation. We will begin by building a realistic body rig that delivers believable and anatomically correct deformation driven by dynamic musculo-skeletal setup! The second half of the workshop focuses on creating a believable hyper realistic facial system based on hybrid musculo-skeletal deformation to re-create life-like facial emotion and expression. The workshop emphasizes on creating hyper realistic character rig that are not just believable to the eyes but also performs well thanks to the array of modular rigging approaches we will be implementing. We will be integrating state of the art techniques to build a film quality rig merging the artistic and technical aspects of character rigging!
With this character rigging course we will take on the challenge to visualize and build realistic production ready character rig and robust facial rig that meets the industry standard and pipeline. We will begin by building a realistic body rig that delivers believable and anatomically correct deformation driven by physics based anatomy created with ZIVA VFX (a plug-in with an offline FEM anatomy simulator) software which reduces the time and cost required to build life-like, anatomical characters for films and games. The second half of the workshop focuses on creating a believable facial system based on FACS system to re-create life-like facial emotion and expression. The facial setup is created using BCS (Blendshape Combination System) tool-set. The workshop emphasizes on creating realistic character rig that are not just believable to the eyes but also performs well thanks to the array of modular and dynamic rigging approaches we will be implementing. We will be integrating state of the art techniques to build a film quality rig that delivers believable and anatomically correct body and facial deformation! 2ff7e9595c
